Autumn 2018 - Eye tests and glasses helping pupils and community

An extensive programme of eye testing was undertaken by Liz and David Woods and their son, medical student, Chris during their visit in March. Some of the pupils who had sight problems were given adjustable glasses. The school and the Woods have been working with the local Kwale District Eye Centre. Spring 2018 Report from Shonda

  • We are pleased to say that the school continues to thrive in difficult circumstances, pupil numbers are increasing and in the recent exams St John’s is in the top 10% of schools in the Likoni area.Sports matches
  • This success has come at a cost and Shonda UK has donated more monies to the school than we are receiving. Putting the project onto a sustainable footing is a key focus area this year.
  • A visit to Shonda by a group from UK during March will be used to ensure we maintain a sustainable project that addresses the local community needs.

School Report - February 2017

A year of consistent and excellent performance. Plenty of highlights MP visits the school, more library books, new machine to cut stone. My favourite is the item about a baboon coming into the playground!

School Report - February 2015

The school opened and now has a muti-media suite ... well that may be an over statement but the school have added a sound system to the projector provided by Pinewood School and taken out by Tanya at Christmas. Teachers and parents all seem very focused on achieving the best they can for the pupils ... I particularly like the Parents Meeting section ...
