We advertised ...

A team of people, led by Helen and Vincent Stokes transformed the Kennet Valley Hall into a French café

People came ... and with fantastic support from Marlborough College and Sarah Hicks a wonderful French meal was served by Sheila, Liz and Dave Woods. The food was served by Matt, Jonny and Hannah Woods and their friends.

Marie Noëlle gave an entertaining and informative talk on how the French eat

The French Evening raised a fantastic £1721.80 for Shonda. To put this amount in perspective this will more than cover the amount we send each month for teachers' salaries. Whilst most of the money will go towards the building of new classrooms £250 was used to purchase some much needed desks.

Some of the money raised will has been used to pay for 13 desks that were recently made for the school

A BIG THANK YOU to everyone for making the evening such a success, not least to Marie Noëlle.

Marie-Noëlle was awarded an MBE for her tireless campaigning over 20 years to promote science and engineering to women. She was also the winner of the London Woman of the Year Award. She is regularly interviewed on national and local radio and TV and was twice a judge for the Great Britons Awards.
Marie-Noëlle is an engaging and professional speaker and, in complete contrast to her motivational talks, she draws on her personal experience of living in France to entertain and inform about the French life, particularly how the French eat.
