Secondary School Sponsorship

The Project has always focused on providing education up to the end of junior school. The cost of educating children to secondary level are significantly greater and outside of the capabilities of the Shonda Project at this time.
However one of our pupils, Ronald Mwasi, achieved over 400 out of a possible 500 marks in his final exams. Ronald was invited to attend Kabarnet School, one of the National Schools, which is a day's bus journey away. This was a great honour for Ronald and the teachers and staff of St John's.

Pinewood School funds running water!

Pinewood School have raised money for Shonda in many ways including donations received at the Christmas carol concert and more recently the school play. This has enabled the buying and installation of an electric pump to take water out of the well and feed tanks in the school. In June the installation of the pump, tank, pipes and wiring was undertaken to provide running water at the school for the first time. The water is also sold to local residents to cover electricity costs to pump the water.

A big thank you to the children, parent and staff at Pinewood School for making this happen.

The following photographs tell the story of the project ...
