Headmasters Report

HEADTEACHER TERM ONE 2013 OPENING REPORT

The school opened on Monday 7th January 2013 with all the teachers present with most of the pupils

ACADEMIC

-Learning and teaching has been going on well.
-KG1 to STD 8 have done two examinations and the pupils have shown an upward performance. We are now busy preparing the pupils for end of term one exams.
-2012 KCPE was fair though we didn’t reach the 2011 highest score of 400 marks. Our 2012 highest score was 360, a drop of 40 marks. At the same time, out of 20 pupils for 2012 candidates we managed to send two to the currently promoted National schools within the coast. Fifteen other candidates joined provincial and District schools. We pray that they maintain good discipline and hard work wherever they are.

SPORTS

-This is a sports term
-We have prepared our pupils very well for competition
-It is our desire to see some of them participate up to the national level.

DEBATES

-This has been conducted quite well. To encourage every child to participate we have organized Inter- Classes debate from class 4 to class 8. This program has attracted most of the pupils to participate to defend their classes.

THINGS THAT WENT WELL

-More pupils have joined the lunch program
-Peaceful environment to facilitate learning and teaching.
-Some funds meant to buy story books were used to purchase course books from class 4 to class 8.
-An examination panel was formed to order, scrutinize, analyze and monitor examination performance.
-Commencement of computer classes which is being enjoyed by all the teachers, some caretaker board members, former students and our pupils from class 4 to class 8.
-Immediate replacement of Madam Patricia who left to join government school.
-The nursery link which is underway.

THINGS THAT DID NOT GO WELL

-The administration block which also accommodates some other four classes was condemned by the ministry of public health.
-Sharing of one office between head teacher and deputy.
-Inadequate classrooms.

IMMEDIATE FOCUS

-Construction of a building to accommodate head teacher’s and deputy’s offices, teachers staff room and pupils class rooms.
-At least 10 single setter desks to improve sitting arrangements at an estimated cost of about shs. 3, 000 each.
-Some story books from class 4 to class 8 which may cost around shs, 10,000 to improve pupil’s imagination and creativity.

CONCLUSION

We appreciate the continued support you are giving to the school. Pass our warm regards to all.
